President's Message

Katherine Snow, President of QPARSE

Welcome to QPARSE! Anyone who has retired from employment in the English schools and centres in the province of Quebec, and are within five years of retirement, are welcome to join the Quebec Provencial Association of School Educators (QPARSE). We are an interesting group of retired educators who are constantly learning and encouraging others to explore new ideas with us. Nothing is too difficult to research and to discover.

.We have met on ZOOM during the pandemic, and will continue to host activities online in 2021-2022. We shall get together to see each other in person again, as soon as the health restrictions and guidelines allow.

I am honoured to have been elected to be your president. I shall work to keep you up-to-date on topics that are of interest to us as seniors. Among the topics of importance to us are- a national strategy for seniors, a national pharmacare system responsive to the needs of seniors. As educators, the status of English Education in Quebec is also of great importance. Considering the language reforms that have been put forward both provincially and federally, this is a concern that is of great interest to us as part of an English speaking community. Also, as citizens of the world we look for environmental action activities that are possible for us to carry out in our organization.
